Wild Care

Located in Eastham MA, Wild Care is a non-profit organization treating injured, ill, and orphaned wildlife though counseling, educational efforts, and outreach. Wild Care wished to create a cohesive plan to expand their campus and address the needs of wildlife and provide educational opportunities for the community.

SV Design conducted studies to further understand the property allowances and constraints of the flood zone where the new building will be located, and elevated the building on piers. Our team designed a modest, freestanding Cape Cod shingle-style structure that will be home to the organization's new welcome center and maximize the footprint. The center’s expansion will feature a warm, welcoming reception area for rescuers bringing in injured animals; an Education Center to enhance educational outreach; and create a separate washing and disinfecting area, which will reserve the current kitchen for food prep. Decks with ADA compliant ramps connect the new building to the main building and the barn that houses the animals and treatment rooms. The new welcome center will provide a vibrant refreshing space and will be a focal point of Wild Care's campus.
