The Block at Odell Park
Beverly, Massachusetts
The Block at Odell Park is a capstone project for downtown Beverly located adjacent to the city’s busiest commuter rail stop, The Depot. This six-story, mixed-use apartment project has 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a resident’s entry that adjoin an expansive outdoor courtyard complete with multiple seating areas, grills, and landscaped planting beds. A section of the courtyard is open for public use and was designed to be utilized as an extension of the neighboring Odell Park.
The Block’s community spaces provide modern amenities such as a state-of-the-art fitness center, a kitchen and island area, lounge space, pool table, mail room, a sky lounge, and roof-top deck with water views of the Bass River. The 106 open-concept apartments feature large windows for bright, welcoming living, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, private balconies, in-home laundry units, and ample storage space.
The Block was meticulously designed to complement the emerging neighborhood and add to Rantoul Street’s aesthetic. There are subtle nods throughout the building to the history of the site, which included two hotels in the 1800-1900’s. One of the hotel buildings, originally named Hotel Walter, was restored and incorporated into the architectural designs for The Block. Many of the building’s original unique features and framework were preserved and now add a modern historic flair to the new building and the well-known corner of Rantoul Street and Railroad Ave.
