The Greater Beverly YMCA‘s Early Learning Center is an extended branch of the Sterling Y that consists of a recreation center, preschool classrooms, a gross motor room, offices, an outdoor classroom, and playground.
The renovation of this existing building consisted of two phases. Phase one included a new entrance canopy, new vestibule with storefront doors, and an interior renovation to the recreation center’s lobby, restrooms, and administrative office space.
Phase two consisted of the renovation and addition to the entrance. Interior upgrades included a grand lobby with custom millwork designs and colors throughout that reflect nature. A newly sized gross motor room and renovated classrooms and corridors with new paint, flooring, and ceilings throughout serve the Early Learning Center's students. The existing kitchenette renovation includes new finishes and cabinetry, and an addition to the existing footprint provides new office space for the staff.
Site improvements include new bike racks, bollards, a dedicated outdoor classroom and new playground with rubber flooring, a large sunshade, and new fencing around its perimeter. The building received new trim work along its façade, and a pop of color along the preschool side provides a fun and child friendly aesthetic environment.
