Architectural Designer II - Residential

Job Summary:

SV Design is looking for a personable, motivated, and organized individual to join our Chatham residential team. As an architectural designer, you will be working primarily on mid to large-sized high-end residential projects. You will be the draftsperson for your projects and responsible for quality, coordination (in-house and externally), and schedule.

Qualifications:

• This is an in-office position at our Chatham, MA location. Any interested candidate must be within reasonable commuting distance of this location.
• A professional degree from a U.S. accredited architecture program or equivalent
• 4-7 years of professional architecture experience with a focus on residential projects
• Ability to communicate ideas in sketch form
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office are required
• Collaborative, team mentality, and open to listening to and considering the views of others
• Ability to take direction from senior staff
• Detail oriented with excellent time management skills and the experience to be efficiently productive
• Must take pride in producing high-quality work and be motivated to do your best
• Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Responsibilities:

• Ensure SV Design’s project standards, professionalism, and creativity are conducted for all work
• Independently perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects of moderate size and complexity or as part of a larger team on larger projects
• Performs analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies and limited design layouts
• Prepare (with oversight) schematic drawings, drawing sets, presentations, submittals, meeting minutes, RFI responses
• Measure existing conditions of buildings
• Follow project through DD/CD phase
      1. Draw plans, RCP’s, finish plans, elevations, sections
      2. Create and review architectural details in house
      3. Research equipment or products to be used
      4. Create window and door schedules and help draft interior elevations as needed
• Work with Project Managers through CA phase
      1. Review shop drawings
      2. Create and issues SKs as needed
      3. Regular site visits depending on project
